CANADA WIDE WARRANT - January 26th, 2010

Richard Earl RUPERT is wanted on a warrant for fraud and robberies targeting seniors. He is a suspect in numerous occurences across Canada. RUPERT befriends seniors under various guises and convinces them to attend a bank with him to make a withdrawl. The money is then handed over under the belief that it will be repayed, or is taken forcibly.

January is Crime Stoppers Month in Prince George

For almost 20 years, the Prince George Crime Stoppers program has made a significant difference in the battle against crime in our city! Since 1991, annonymous tips to Crime Stoppers in Prince George have been directly responsponsible for the recovery of more than 2 and half million dollars worth of stolen property. Jack Hooper, President of  Prince George Crime Stoppers  says “ we are proud of how effective the program has been over the years and  we would like to thank the residents of Prince George in making our program one of the best in the country ! “. From that start of the program, tips made to our toll free tipline at 1-800-222-TIPS have helped the RCMP recover almost $ 17 million dollars in narcotics.  Crime Stoppers Prince George has received nearly 7500 tips and approved almost 500 cash rewards since 1991.

Crime Stoppers has another succesful fundraising campaign

The Prince George Crime Stoppers program along with Vandehoof Crime Stoppers have recently completed their first ever door to door fundraising campaign. Crime Stoppers partnered with Rocky Mountain Marketing and went door to door selling gift certificate packages from July 6th to September 10th. Over $12,000 was raised in Prince George and $2580 was raised for the Vanderhoof program. Crime Stoppers would like to thank everyone who bought packages in our area and the sponsors who helped us with this fundraising project. If you didn't get a chance to help us during the summer, there are a some gift certificate packages still available. Please call Roberta Stewart at 250 565 – 8011 to arrange for purchase and pick up. Gift Certificate packages are $28.00 and packed with over $700 of savings to you. We'll be holding a thank you sponsor night in January and we hope to see you all there!
